This rating can be obtained by applicants holding a valid Private or Commercial Aeroplane Pilot’s Licence.

Requirements:

  • Unrestricted valid Aeroplane Private or Commercial Pilot’s Licence.
  • ATPL Ground school (Frozen ATPL) or IR Ground school
  • Experience:
  • 50 hours flight time as Pilot in Command on cross country flights on board aircraft belonging to categories accepted by the Aviation Authorities, of which at least 10 hours must be in aeroplanes.

Ground School:

Having a Frozen ATPL (Ground School exams passed) shows the required level of theoretical knowledge has been achieved.

Flight Training:

The necessary dual instrument flight training hours are carried out in aeroplanes and/or simulators under the supervision of authorized instructors.
